Every month I go through the credit cards that I’m currently carrying in my wallet. I’ll highlight the reason I’m carrying a particular card as well as any new card bonuses. Changes since last post :
- Applied for the Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite™ Mastercard®
I’m currently meeting minimum spend on this card. All of my non-bonus spend will go on this card. I’m also carrying this card for access to the Admirals Club and partner lounges.
Since I have a more consistent travel schedule, I’ve been taking advantage of the 4th night free benefit on a fairly consistent basis.
American Express Platinum
I’m using this card primarily for AMEX Offers. I have the 2 Best Buy ( $30 cash back on $300 of spend and an additional membership reward point on all purchases) and Amazon (3x membership rewards on purchases) offers. After I meet the minimum spend on AAdvantage Executive card I’ll start using this card again for airfare.
American Express Everyday Preferred
This is the card I’m using for everything else. As of right now mostly small transactions are going on this card to meet the 30 transaction criteria to receive a 50% bonus on all points earned for the month. I get 3x membership reward points for spend at supermarkets and 2x membership rewards points for spend at Gas Stations.
Cards I’ll use this month but not carrying everyday
Alaska Airlines Visa Signature
I’m using this mainly for Bankamerideals.
The categories this quarter are Lyft and Walgreens. Since both can utilize Apple Pay I don’t actually have to carry the card.
U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve
I’m not actually carrying this one in my wallet. I mainly use this for ApplePay/AndroidPay purchases in non-bonus categories.
